Hey, I'm starting my HSC course in a few weeks and I have been planning to buy textbooks so I can have a look at them after my prelim yearlies. The subjects that I'm doing:

- Advanced English
- Modern history
- Ancient history
- Legal studies
- Business studies
- and General maths

If you would please recommend some text books for me, it would be appreciated :)

BTW I'm aiming for band 6's, so even if you think they're a bit too wordy/ hard to comprehend, I don't mine. Just recommend which you think are best and would/did personally use

English: Nothing. Just teacher resources (provided your teacher is good)
Business; Business Studies in Action, Excel HSC Business Studies
Legal: Cambridge + Excel HSC
Ancient History: Antiquity 1

Does the school supply the textbooks? Most schools use Business Studies In Action so I would check to see if they use it first.

What are you currently using for prelims?
She's providing us with mere photocopied booklets from the Cambridge textbook, though I already have the textbook so I use that. I would go with Cambridge for HSC for the sake of being adapted to the layout of it and all but I'm not sure if it would be the wisest choice, hence why I'm seeking the opinion's of others.

Yeah I wouldn't go with Cambridge. Just get Business Studies In Action.

+1
I've never got use to learning from the Cambridge book, it seems like describe the syllabus dot points, instead of giving a direct definition of what the dot point is actually about. BSinAction does it well.

You might also want to look into the Qantas case study booklet ($30ish iirc)

Really good for section 4.

Heinemann legal studies is pretty good but it contains some old stuff from the old legal studies syllabus!
