We're all a bit over dinner and a movie for dates

Anyone got some slightly more original/exciting ideas of where to take the lover?

Ice skating.

A fish and chips picnic at the beach. (followed by a walk along the shore ;) )

A visit to the art gallery.

A walk around a nice cute town with a stop for a late afternoon ice cream.

Meet the parents.

DVD's at home with a giant gourmet pizza, garlic bread and a bottle of red.

I've tried all of the above. And they were all succesful - so take a pick. Just depends where you might want the night/day to lead to.

Yup! It's got to be done some time. And sometimes it even ends up with a happy ending. Red wine, home cooked spinach pie some Led Zeppelin all under the stars...very nice actually. Not at all a nightmare as you would imagine.

i don't believe this is achievable with ethnic parents.

they'd rather stare me down and ask me why i don't do 4U maths.

I totally agree with you about being over movie dates *yawn*. One of the best dates I've had was bike riding around the Yarra River, and then a picnic in Botanical Gardens.

- Pancakes and cappuccino or bacon and eggs and juice brekkie at a nice cafe on a Sunday morning.

- Out to an isolated field to find four leaf clovers and hit golf balls.

- To a bargain shop with the gift to buy each other a present using only $5 (or whatever you set).

- The markets to grab a bargain. Just stroll around and eat dodgy but overpriced food.

Once again, all tried and tested. Work well.
