For a recent task in class, the teacher has asked us what are the differences between data integrity & data accuracy.

From all the resources i could get hold of, they seem to be the same thing; both are the reliability of data.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the two?

To quote a learned man:

Data Integrity occurs when data is correct and accurately reflects its source. The quality of the data.

So, from the above, accuracy is an element of integrity.

Something can be accurate without having substantial quality.

A single sentence from an article or discussion may be accurate but may not have integrity - thats how people get "misquoted" - their statements are taken out of context - it doesnt "reflect the source as a whole".
