kekeke... i did that question!! how about the second part of it?! the 6 mark question?! proving the lines are perpendicular?
Hell no. Well, I proved a whole bunch of triangles to be similar, so hopefully it'll grab me some marks.

there were two induction questions... and i cant remember either of em.

i think there was one with prove that n! _< (n+1)^k or something
how do ya do that?

and then last one, i wrote "therefore result is true for n=1" and then, Pens Down!

did anyone show geometrically that first part of the volumes one?

ooh did anyone get the newton's law thing?
is that in 3 unit? i can't remember doing it...
is that in the last question about the approximation method?
or are u referring to something else?

The newton's root thingie? I got the first part out. It was something like

f(x) = x2 - c
f(a) = a2 - c
f'(x) = 2x
f'(a) = 2a

the approximation is a - (a2 - c)/2a and so the error
E1 = a - (a2 - c)/2a - sqrt(c) = [a2 - c + 2asqrt(c)]/2a
but a2 - c + 2asqrt(c) = E02
so E1 = E02/2a

Yeh.. I managed to figure that question out... did u get the values of a to be +-sqrt of c?

twas a hard test. answered about 75% of the paper, fudged about 60%, adding up the silly mistakes, it'll probably come down to around 55%..hopefully.

i know i fully screwed up 15 marks though

so far the highest mark iv seen is 65%.

either were all dumb(pretty likely), or that was a bloody difficult paper!

When I said I answered 75% earlier, that was the paper minus the induction and the mechanics question, and with questions substituted by my teacher. Noone that I know of apart from me got the volumes question that he replaced the induction with though.

plus we didn't have mechanics, harder 3u, or those motion questions. so our test was made up of cssa, heinment (i think) and other questions my teacher put

Does anyone know the state average for the 4U trials are and were?!
An approximation, an estimate of previous years results?!
