Punishments and sentencing reflect what society wants to see. When behaviours are criminalised or de-criminalised it reflects what sociey believes to be right and wrong. Like harsh sentences mean society believes that crime is morally and ethically incorrect. For example the case of RvSkaf (2002) and the 55yrs jail sentence demonstrates that society as a whole believed that crime was horrific and wanted the maximum penalty imposed. hope that helpsmadison00 said:i have a legal assesment and i have to "evaluate the extent to which criminal law reflects moral and ethical standards."
