Thats actually a blank dot point for me too. Think of the likelyness of them asking it. It was in our trial (independent) but our teacher actually replaced it 'cause it wasn't big enough to write an essay on.

Mmm, i can understand why its hazy...no textbook that ive seen deals with it clearly. Anyway...heres what ive come up with...
I look at 4 key groups
1. The Junker landed artistocracy
2. The army (specifically the leadership)
3. Key industrialists
4. Conservative politicians such as Papan and von Schliecher

I look at Von Papan's establishment of the 'cabinet of barons' which comprised of the above, unified to keep the Nazi's out of office, however this had a reverse effect as the Nazi's propogated against communism (which would mean conservatives wealth and private land at detriment).

'In the end the Nazis were given power in 1933 by the deliberate action of the conservatice elite group who were actually Hitlers opponents. The conservative had never supported the concept of parliamentary democracy and thus sought to use the strength and appeal of Hitler's movement to entrench their own authority and power.'

Historiography - i use Ian Kershaw and Friedrich Nietzche.

Hope this helps.
If you have an questions post them up.
