Okay, I know not many people are doing Ireland (which is why I made the subject to this thread ambiguous!) but you might have a similar type of dot point on the background of your conflict and might be able to help...
ie the first dot-point of Anglo-Irish Relations 1968-1998 is based on the background of the conflict, even before the specified year of 1968:
"survey of the partition of Ireland, including the social, political and economic conditions from 1922 to 1968."
So how much depth do I really need on a dot point that covers the 46years before the actual conflict I'm studying? Do you think (or even better, know!) if they would actually ask for an essay focused solely on that in the HSC?
