"Assess the impact of conflict in Indochina on the villagers of South Vietnam and Cambodia in the 1960's and 1970's"

How would we all go about answering this??

My guess is that u would talk about for S.Vietnam:
-Repression under Diem
-Isolation of Buddhist majority
-Strategic hamlets
-The influence of the VietCong demonstrated that generally, the peasants supported Ho Chi Minh

For Cambodia:
-Ummmm........

Help!!

Just chuck in stuff like the amount of bombs that were dropped on Cambodia and the 'supposed' neutrality that the US took advantage of, and the VC used Cambodia as communist sancturies and the peasants had to deal with the whole lot and it wasn't even 'their' war.

That was my trial question :D Except we had to go to 1975

- Talk about US tactics in the South
- Talk about quality of life in rural areas
- Compare the respective economies under different leaders.
- Government policies and the effects they had on the people (ie Sihanouk allowed the US to bomb Cambodia as part of his neutrality).
