I have a composition for music of the 20th / 21st century and i cant do it? i cant compose.. it never works.. anyone got any ideas/advice for me?

hmmm well i dropped composition for music of the 20th/21st century because i also can't compose so i can't say i'm much help here but things i did pick up are have lots of contrast and interest, make your choice of performing media something that will be easy to get hold of when recording it (i'm assuming this is for an elective) so don't have it for like a whole orchestra or something. listen to lots of music to try and get an inspiration. ummmm can't think of anything else right now...good luck
