This was in my half yearly today, and i couldnt work it out.

If complex # 'z' and its conjugate ź satisfy the equation zź + 2iź = 12 + 6i.
Find the possible values of z.

Any help would be great.

Let z=x+iy & ź=x-iy then equate Re & Im parts from given expression to form 2 simultaneous equations?

Thanks. It seems so easy now. Stupid exam brain freezes! If i dont get the marks i want, ill blame menatl blocks.

Everybody gets that. I had my MX2 exam on Monday and there were about 15 marks' worth of questions I couldn't do. Soon after I got home all the solutions just started popping out in my head. I don't like mental gridlocks. Don't worry too much. If it was a hard exam, then a lot of other people must have had terrible brain freezes, too. I thought I did really bad for my exam but as it seems others managed to do no better so my rank is still good.
