i'm driving myself crazy wondering if i should change to straight commerce law and specialise in corporate law or keep going with my random combined degree. i really like marketing and can see myself starting a career in this field, however i love law and would like the option of one day practicing. i'm just worried that if i continue with commerce-marketing and law together law will look cheapened by marketing, making me look unfocussed (especially since macquarie's the only uni that offers this and most people give me strange looks wen i tell them wat i'm doing). what do you guys think?
i'll have to decide soon or time will decide for me - i'm already into my 2nd year.
Any help or advice anyone could give me would really be appreciated!!

just do what you are doing. marketing dosent "cheapen" law and forget what other people say about what you are doing

thanks for the reply - but you don't reckon they kind of cheapen each other in the sense that having two relatively unrelated majors makes u look unfocussed?? i like the idea of keeping both... just don't want to make the wrong choice and cock up my future options, but i guess that's the same party line they've been feeding us since year 7 so maybe i stress too much

Look, if you apply to Law firms, they won't tell you in the interview "ah hah, you did marketing, looks like we aint hiring you" - It just doesn't happen that way. Your combined degree will probably benefit you rather than disadvantage you when you go for either career. Ever thought of a career in marketing and distribution law? You can apply both degrees here, when you'd specialise in competition law and fair trading.
