hi everyone! i just have a question regarding the units of a commerce degree with a double major (finance & business law)

on the unsw handbook (http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2006/3502.html) it says:
" the bachelor of commerce degree consists of 144 UOC (24 courses)"
"these will be made up of 36 UOC of Core Courses, 12 UOC of General Education Courses and 84 UOC subjects of your double major"

36 + 12 + 84 equals 132 UOC. what happens to the other 12 units?

Thanks in advance!

Then it's got to be electives.......I'm surprised you couldn't get this info from the unsw site.....

Yeah, it should be two electives each worth 6 units of credit.

no, the 84 units do not include the electives......you do 7 courses for each major, this makes 14 courses in total for your double major

Now, each course is worth 6 units of credit...14 X 6=84 UOC...voila!

84UOC ( double major) + 12 UOC( electives) + 12 UOC( Gen-Ed) + 36 UOC ( core)= 144 UOC!
