Hi!
Is Macquarie law any lesser than UNSW/USYD law? As in will employers potentially look down on me if I go to Macquarie instead of UNSW?
I am interested in law but not quite sure if I want to go into law or accounting so is it better I do a combined degree at Macquarie or just forget about law and go to UNSW for commerce? So confused -_-

UNSW has the highest job rate for graduates out of all unis in australia, second is USYD. it would be better to do any degree at UNSW but you are saying a double a degree of comm/law at mq. double degrees will give you more variety and will broaden your spectrum of career paths after graduating. personally if i were in your shoes i would choose UNSW coz of the job success rate and respect.

not sure where you get your sources from but UNSW is the 2nd highest and USYD is far from it

I think people need to be careful when interpreting these results.

While more students have indeed graduated and transitioned into full-time employment at UNSW, more students at USYD have graduated and sought to continue with postgraduate studies so I think it's a bit hard to judge a uni on their reputation for employable students on these statistics alone because it ignores all the pathways that a student may want to take.

Also forgot to mention that the measure of "employment" ignores whether the graduates enters a sector which aligns with their degree.

If you ended up graduating and getting a full-time job in retail, then that still counts.

Obviously surveys like this do have value, but from what I've seen, they've been designed very poorly that it's difficult to actually infer anything of value.

If I was to figure out which university was better in respect to employment prospects, then I would recommend looking for candid comments from employers to see what their perceptions are.

If you are unsure about accounting vs law why not do both instead of risking being stuck in one field that you don't particularly enjoy? If you however do come to realise you just want to do accounting I would go with UNSW. Just my opinion! :)
