Hey, I'm filling out a scholarship form for the co-op program and one question says:

"outside of school/study, what has been one of the most challenging things you have faced in the last two years and what have you done to overcome it?"

Would anyone know, by any chance, what the people who read these applications look for in this sort of an answer? I think it's abit of a personal question. So what do u guys think?

I answered it very personally. I agree, it is a personal question.

I believe they look for your extra-cirriculum interests and how relavent your problem sovling ability. I mean, engineering eventually boils down to problem solving. I think they want to know if the applicant has used their brains in the last two years, frankly speaking.

I think: leadership skills, initiative skills, and already mentioned: problem solving and extra cirricular activities.

As did I. And that got me through to the interview stage, so I assume that is what they want.
