The specialisation is more of a pick-three-subjects-in-your-last-semester-at-uni thing than a three-year-intense-structural-engineering-only type thing. The double degree is great, it lets you either keep doing both or just drop out in 3rd year after you get a taste and can decide whether you're interested or not. I think we started with about ten doing it in my year, there's only two or three left now (4th year) because the rest have dropped one or the other. I'm doing straight civil btw.

I did straight civil all the way. Enviro is just enviro w/ no specialisation areas, there's about seven or eight enviro-specific electives, see enviro, combined and civil course outlines for an idea of what you'll be studying. The 'specialisation' thing is a bit of a misnomer.

Condsider just doing the Civil degree. If you still are interested in Enviro at the end you can do a 1 year Masters in it. All up you would do the same number of years and have a Masters degree. Alternatively you can do the Masters in something else.
