hey folks
anyone else thinking about doing this course?
sounds perfect for me; but i'm not sure whether to do it at UNSW or USYD (who're offering it for the first time next year)

any thoughts?

it's civil eng WITH architecture.


so basically you just dont do some engineering subjects and whack some subjects from the architecture department in.

Looks good but do realise it is mostly a civil engineering degree. You wont be getting two degrees.

its a shitty course... I am doin it this year but Im changing to actual civil engineering at unsw. coz as he said u wont get 2degrees and u r specialised in non of them by the end of 5years....

hey, yeah iv been looking into it, might do it at unsw, just because the engineering there is better.

Civeng top tip: the "specialisations" aren't a big deal, it's just liek four subjects that you pick in your last semester of uni, and you can only pick three from any one area (water/geo/struc/trans/constr) (only 3 subs / 2 in any field if you do honours thesis).

so i can do b commerce/ b engineering (civil with architectuere)? i remember someone telling me you can only combine with the normal civil course. Thanks

U cant sub-major or minor when undertaking combined/double degrees.

So for the fello above, no you cant specialise in structural engineering, you would be specialising in straight civil engineering.
