i know this should go in the faculty subforum, but who reads that

anyway, the profs said the test was completely multiple choice

but if you look at the sample test, there are 2 mole calculation questions, 5 marks each, at the end of the paper, where you have to show your working

so are there huge mole questions or what? cos they scare me

oh and what session did you pick? im doing the 5-6pm exam in Applied Science L1

the paper, if i remember correctly is out of 30.

10 multiple choice questions, 1 mark each.
2 mole calculation type questions, both 10 marks each.

What the?!?!
I thought it was all multiple choice!
Omfuk... tell me it ain't true... :(
Out of curiosity, what happens if I fail chem?
I'm only doin it for a semster.
I hate it and I'm not motivated, hence i'll prolly fail.
Do I have to redo the subject or something???

i did chem last semester, it may have changed - get out the past paper, and have a look, they usually have the same scheme each semester.

i may be wrong - may be 10 Multiple choice, (1 mark each) and 2 mole questions (5 marks each).

Dash - this test counts like 10% or something lame. i wouldn't worry about it. if you can't do it, just at least guess the MC questions and walk out of there.
If you fail chem and you still want to continue with doing Civil Eng, you will have to do chem sometime, sometime pretty soon too, cause i know some of the 2nd year civil subjects require a prerequisite of chem.
try to get a PC at the very least :)

Okkkkk...Fundamentals of Chem soooo isn't fundamentals if it just assumed we all had a background in chem. And, that exam...I'm screwed.

what's your science major?
most majors, not all though, do require some knowledge of chemistry at some stage. if you fail, you can either take the subject again or just not. meh.

if it's not a prerequiste for your major, why would you do chem then? :p

How did everyone went? I think it's easy. except that they put a lot of calculation in it.

hmm....and so many trick questions! The one about the F- and how many protons, neutrons and electrons! first i thought it was asking about the atom, then i read it again, it was asking about the F nucleus! OMG...how tricky! :( So i ended up putting something like 9P, 10 N, and 0 e

am i correct??
