-The times they are a-changing: Bob Dylan
-Born on the 4th of July: Oliver Stone, starring Tom Cruise
-American History X
-Malcolm X
-oh i just thought of one, The karate Kid (what a classic), but wait i haven't watched it for a long time, so it may have nothing to do with changing perspective.

i can't think of anymore
hope i helped:D

A change of perspective occurs in it, but there's very little you can analyse - you would have to do it extremely well for it to be not viewed as simplistic.

Not to mention find an accurate version of it. IIRC it's a hans christian anderson story, but I always get him and the Grimms mixed up :)

I think the BoS approves of any texts you might consider 'cultured' :p

Especially ones on which you can ramble on about philosophical views of change.

Essentially everything in the AoS is pretty much the same (since it's all Change this and Change that). The focus on Perspectives implies a different point of view, a different WAY of LOOKING at things. Whenever I think of Changing Perspective I think of a bowl of spaghetti and how it looks kinda different from the top/sides/underneath/after you've eaten it.

The course attempts to teach students different ways of viewing change. For example there's various kinds of changes - sudden spontaneous change (such as a dog getting hit by a car) or an eventual change (such as the Labor party's policies). How these sorts of changes are conveyed through text and how it changes your pov and why, etc. are looked at.

It's quite interesting, especially if you combine it with the English Ext 1 'texts and ways of thinking' course. That opens up even more different ways of looking at texts (ESPECIALLY if you do King Lear in English Adv.)

HTH.

some advice...

I think any stimulus material you use should be 'yr 12 standard' otherwise there's the chance you'll get mark down

Aim for things which teachers will go 'ooh, they're smart' at.

That's about as legible as I can make my sentences at 4am :p

yeah it is. its a good play, there is also a film on it. you might want to do the film version of it as a visual text because it has more "how" on the techniques e.g. camera use etc.
