If people vote for a government, generallly its because they share similar ideologies as the one's which the party endorses. Family First ring any bells? Why would there be a push towards nuturing "family values" if people were not getting uptight about sex or homosexuality or anything which is "nherently bad".

Touch wood does not take away from the over-riding sentiment behind the whole paragraph/comment.
Family First represent a small amount of extremist Christians who think we should go back to 1950.
We have an aging population. Younger people are out numbered, of course the results are going to mirror the way the majority of voters think!! I also know alot of people who voted Liberal, but do not share the same uptight ideologies.
None of this is going to change for a while, it is of course a slow process..

take alexander for example. it is getting slaughtered by the greeks who do not wish to see alexander portrayed as bisexual. Americans dont like it because many of them are christians against homosexuality. even though the fact is, alexander did have a male lover, (as did philip).

the point im trying to make, albiet not too well, is that the government doesn't represent the way Australians think. minority groups do not speak for us, yet we're allowing bullshit censorship and other issues to be battered down.

we've progressed alot since the invention of television and print, and it's a shame that we still dont have the right to see what we want, without being dictated to,

Why did the Lib's side with Family First? To communicate their fundamentalist, conservative values. Why did Labor side with the Greens? To communicate their progressive ideologies. It doesnt matter whether they have one member or 50. The fact is, there is a definate sentiment behind the Lib's push to incorporate them.

i think censorship is starting to ease down a bit. ive noticed a few previously banned movies are available to watch now. it is kinda dumb though how we can see movies with people being blown to bits or hacked apart yet any kind of graphic sex scene is not allowed.

What planet are you living on? Honestly. Less Uptight? In case you hadnt realised, the world is currently being run by a bunch of conservative gits who were democratically elected through the use of fear tactics and a global conscious naivety. Less uptight? Pffft.
makes me glad people grow old and die

Here is the mentality. It is just sex. "Real sex" who cares? It happens! Why is violence proliferated to such a great extent and sex looked down upon. Sexuality should be embraced, not restricted.
