The political theorist focused on analyzing the power resources, tactics and strategies used by organisational participants to play power games. They focus on how these participants gain and use power to influence outcomes of a business. A manager’s power according to the political theorist depends a lot on environmental situation such as the state of the economy, power of relevant unions, demand and supply for the particular skills by the worker, government industrial laws etc.

One of the most important contributions of political theorist was the insight they provided into the negotiating and bargaining aspect of management. An important role of managers is to negotiate with various groups and obtain agreements that are desirable for the successful operation of the business. Managers and other negotiators will use their different sources of power in the negotiation and bargaining process.

Not 100% sure on the exact details, but from the top of my head

- Many Polticians (Liberals) are business owners (ex-business owners sometimes) and they can influence laws to better the business, not sure what the guys name is, but he is doing it to stop the carbon tax

- Woolworths and Coles usually fight for market share and push out competition. They price cut goods to influence greater sales. This may attract government intervention to prevent this and Potlicians influence the outcomes.
