Yeah, well maybe there are elements of pretigeous associated with doing Medicine. I don't rule that out.
I don't wanna do Medicine, But with regards to S1MO's statement of majority people are doing Medicine only for the money might be slightly wrong, well at least in my opinion it is. I reckon studying/setting your career path on something you have absolutely no interest in for the rest of the life would be rather painful, and that the individual will eventually drop out/give up on it. Let's take for example of 1U SOR, you say you lack interest in the subject, and wished it wasn't compulsory. Fair enough. Surely, you won't be as motivated as something like Physics, Maths compared to SOR? Yeah? Now let's relate this back with the people who study Medicine. How would they feel if they have to study something they are not interested in for 6, 7 Years JUST for the moeny? I am pretty sure the experience would be painful... What I am saying is that people must find a interest in a particular course to go well/be successful in it. Majority of doctors aren't motivated by the dollar sign though I admit some are...
I am sure most of us would like to have a high stable income, but there are lots of brilliant kids who score insanely high Medicine-like UAIs, yet they still elect to do something different.
Anyway, this is a rather interesting topic to debate. Feel free to criticize me if you want. I would like to hear LottoX's opinion on this
