this is for module A btw I just read an essay that apparently state ranked (idk if its true or not) and it only had two paragraphs, but I thought u needed three paragraphs with 12 quotes in total for each essay....

wait so 8 quotes for module A is okay right? cos im thinking 3 paragraphs in the 40 minutes is hectic and module A has dense analysis with all the context embedded

I’ve only ever done 2 paragraphs, 8 quotes is fine altho can be even better with an extra short quote here or there

I'd encourage 3, but you can access a band 6 with 2. I was told by my teachers (whom were all HSC markers), that a 3 paragraph structure is generally harder, and thus more sophisticated (and rewarded). But I'm sure there are teachers / markers out there who would say the complete opposite. So take it with a grain of salt.

I always use a 4-paragraph structure, ABAB, but I suppose 2 very long paragraphs combining A and B for both points would work. It would save a little bit of word count as you reduce the number of topic and linking sentences, but you still need to flow smoothly from one text to the other. However, your ideas might become convoluted, so it's probably better if you separate everything into more paragraphs to track your argument.

i mean if ur doing 2 paragraphs ur paragraphs should be a bit more hefty than an essay that has 3 distributed paragraphs. for my mod a, i have 5 quotes in paragraph one and 4 quotes in paragraph two. so yeah it should be enough. just make sure ur two paragraphs aren’t that short lol cuz it’ll look like ur missing half ur essay

My school prefers 2 big paragraphs that are in depth. So respectfully, ~500 words each para minimum. I do this for mod a, common mod and mod b.
