does anyone know if i can get an exchange/refund on sale items from cotton on?

i bought a hoodie today but when i got home i saw there was a small hole in the hood but on the recepit it says 'no exchange or refund on discounted goods'. does this still apply if the discounted goods are faulty? cos in the next paragraph it says damaged goods must be returned within 7 days with the tags etc etc so would they let me even though the damaged item was on sale?

Damaged goods on discount are still damaged. I'd definitely ask for a refund.

Assuming that the item wasn't discounted because it was damaged, that is.

It really does depend...

You are legally entitled to a refund if:

- the goods were not as advertised
- the goods are faulty

Just 'changing your mind' and wanting a refund is not a legal right, but most sensible retailers do it out of courtesy and customer retention (they want repeat business).

That said, from what you said - you would be legally entitled to a refund or exchange because the good you bought were faulty.
