1. how hard is it to actually study biomedical engineering when compared to mechanical and mechatronic engineering etc
2. what are the prospectives of finding a job in Australia as a biomedical engineer in the future (like 5 years time)

1. not really hard, more or less the same but will take longer because you are completing more subjects

2. i would say doable

Difficulty is subjective. Workload should be similar however.

Biomedical engineering is a rather specific area. You'll find more job opportunities in mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
