Hello
I would like to know what the BEST courses are for web design and online video making
It can be at Uni, Tafe or Colleges. [I did not study any computer courses in year 11 or 12, but I did in year 10]

I have emailed TAFE and some uni's but I am not really getting any answers except for full pages of mumbo jumbo.

If you could help me, it would be really appreciated

Billy Blue - Digital Media

it's a great bachelor course and one of the best in Australia I'd say.

Digital Media is probably your best bet. There's other similar courses as well like B Creative Arts (Graphic Design), B Creative Arts (Design for Film and Television).

Wow... I asked this question 2 years ago. Just to update.. I have been at billyblue Digital Media for 2 years. I am leaving with an associate degree.

Let's just say I want the last 2 years of my life back.

I didn't realise this thread was so old (Brightside, why did you bump it?)

For curiosities sake, what was the Billyblue course like? Why wasn't it worth your time?

Overcrowded Classes,

Teachers that don't wanna be there (well 80% of them), not showing up to class, really angry people, and heaps of teachers hate the way the college is run and actively tell us to complain. I have had 2-3 teachers out of about 20 that I am happy with (and they were lovely).

Very limited resources in terms of comps and library

The first year is all theory in terms of 'how to think of an idea' ... the 2nd year was better tho

Timetables are atrocious- going in 4-5 days a week sometimes for only one class, and other times classes are back to back with no break

I tell you I don't know many ppl at BB who r actually happy with the course.

But it is good for people that don't want a life, and never socialise- if you want to dedicate all your life to your assignments then go to billyblue because that's the only thing you will ever have time for. BB actively discourages anything outside their 'design' world.

It is highly competitive too a lot of d'bags go here (but some nice ppl)... If I had my time again I would go to TAFE or do a short course and specialise in something particular like video editing: as BB just teaches you a little bit of everything.

Having said that I have learnt a little bit of after effects and 3d... But mostly its doing presentation after presentation after presentation AND GROUP WORK which is death...

I probably am sounding more negative than I should but my points are all real.

I have learnt stuff I just wish it was better or that I had studied something specific... Yes a lot of people do enjoy it but a lot of people are annoyed with how its run and the content.

Just giving my opinion don't let me sway any potential people either way lol... this is my personal view I just wish i mastered something specific...
