I liked Chemistry in Contexts and Conquering..simple, straight forward and a good deal of historical background which is required in new HSC science syllabi

On its own Conquering and Context are probably the best.

Put together with surfing Chemistry, it will do you wonders.

I used Conquering chem and thought it was pretty good.
Pathways was too detailed and most of it was irrelevant
Excel was so basic there was nothing in it...

lol uhh i chose the last option
but chem in contexts is really good. bloody expensive, though.
my teacher photocopied pretty much the entire prelim book for us lol... and a bit of the HSC book, but then he got told off by the photocpy lady so :( (but then one of my friends bought it so we all shared notes and stuff :D)

lol we only used pathways coz one of the teachers' husband wrote it :p
