Recently received my English (Advanced) trial marks back. They are definitely not the best mark (58/105), this should put me around 23/31 for rank in a school ranked in the 160s. Now I am regretting to express my hate for English by avoiding it.
However I am now determined to study harder for it and hopefully get at least a 70/105 but one of my concern is that will my HSC mark be affected greatly due to my HSC mark be affected greatly due to my poor internal rank and mark? Also does anyone know approximately the raw mark cut-off for a Band 5?
My other concern is my ATAR. My other subjects (Math Ext 1 and 2, Physics, IPT) are fairly well with ranks ranging from 1st to 6th. With a poor English mark (as mentioned ~70 HSC mark), it is going to be very difficult to get an ATAR of 92?
Anyone with similar experience could share their thought on this?
