mmm i think the average patient load per week is more than 50 off the top of my head....

so it depends on what u charge....
(providing ur clinic is good)

yeah.. my last chiro i went to, was 2 years out of dong the b of sci with master of chiro , and he was charging $40 for 25mins.. he worked by himself in a small practice.

man
im studying chem 101 as we speak.. hehe shit.. trying to be good and doing all the excersizes in the text.. fark...

i ment.. extended.. .for chem101, phys159, biol155 for next sem, ill do it at home.... thats what im doing
with chir132 at uni itself.

so what i need is any other bonus material that i could look at while i start studying for those sem2 subjects :D

its good we have a few chiro ppl on these boards :)
btw... what are class numbers like? in lectures are they full up?

oh so ur trying to transfer into chiro?

im kinda confused... theres a chir132 and a biol155?? o_0

anyhows.. i dont think they would be any material out for those subjects yet cos they are second sem subjects...

tho phys159 is like hsc/beginner phys so u might just try reading a textbook or something =P

mmm well the lectures for chiro everyone(100 or so give or take a few 10s) still pretty much attends those... put for those other sciences... i think the numbers have reduced by abt half the last time i went...

and if u are trying to transfer to chiro... studying anatomy/histolgy is a must...

50 Patients(/week) * $200 (/hour)
=$10,000 /week

Approx. 48 Working Weeks
48 * $10,000
=$480,000 p.a

i really LOVE biology except i dont do chem...will this pose a problem?

thanks all
ps. any1 in chiropractic please pm me :)
- Challenging? Not Really, but you have to memories a few body parts from what i've heard.

- Long Hours? About 24 a week depending on practicals which are 4 hours every 2nd week. So its kinda 20 hours a week. You probably show up 4days a week.

- Social Life? Depends how you organise your time and if you have friends :p

- Hard to open business? You might begin working for someone then become your own boss when you can afford you start your own business.

- Do doctors look down on chiropractors? Yes they do cause Chiropractic Science isnt really a form of science at all. Most of the things you learn from chem and bio wont be applied.

the fact u didnt do chem in highschool.. isnt a big deal at all.. same with physics.. they offer chem101 and phys159 for students who didnt do them in the hsc.. .

they count as full units and will just replace more advanced subjects in chem and phys.. not a big deal at all.. In fact.. to even get into chem 101 and 159phys, u have to get under a certain percent in your hsc, or not have attempted them at all..

easy shitzor

also, docs dont really look down on chiros... it has to be suitable for the injury and not risk further injury. however, it is almost always attempted in structural injuries before surgury will be considered. thus theyre recommended by most physios, neursurgeons and orthapedic surgeons. md's may suggest as an original means for correction.

yeh what debugz said was correct abt not having done chem or phys...
IN FACT.. its better to not do chem and phys... have a lighter workload and less hours =P

long hours? very farken long... ive got 27 hours 5 days a week.. but 2 four hr pracs are on alternate weeks so its more like 23... but still a lot compared to those commerce...

hmm well of course opening ur own business is gonna be hard... i think the main thing would be to chose ur location right....

lol thats a petty reason! it goes back to when chiropractic was first formed in the US..... (insert pages of chiropractic history)

nowadays some docs are still sckeptical abt chiro.. but thats usually due to anti-chiro propaganda that they were taught when they were studying....

(we still aint covered by medicare!!!! well we sorta are.. only $200 worth or something which aint many visists at all)
