umm i heard that apart from CVD, cancer, injury, mental health and diabetes the 5 priority areas that there has been a new addition to it .. "arthritis" is this true or i have just been wrongly informed? if so do you have to know about it for our hsc?

oh alright .. i just had to make sure of things .. since our pdhpe teacher left us and yer its been a big mess >< but yerp i appercaite this =]
so all together 7 priority areas for australia?
cvd
cancer
injury
mental health
diabetes
asthma
arthritis and muscoskeletal conditions

the summarie notes would be very much appercaited =] thanks

you need to know all 7, syllabus was updated for this year i think.

At the end of each HSC, they don't make changes during the middle of a session.

Your teacher should have given you, or should be going off the syllabus written for 2008.

you only really need to know 4 of the points
CYD and cancer are important and then study another two in detail then maybe summarise over the rest:)

you only need to know CVD & cancer really well then u needto choose 2 other ones to learn really well...thats what we were told..

wait but can they like specify a priority area? like for our 3rd assessment we a mock test on core 1 and one Q specified about mental health? so like WTF??

If I remember correctly, mental health wasn't a priority area but it was definitely in the syllabus.

this is lame!!!!
ok for the syllabus question- 'What are the priority areas for improving Australia's health?'
you need to know CVD and cancer
and then two other ones like injury and mental health.
for those four areas you need to know the:
nature of the problem
extent of the problem
social determinants
and groups at risk.

then later on in the syllabus the question: 'What actions are needed to address Australia's health priorities?'
you need to answer this question for CVD, cancer- either lung or skin, motor vehicle accidents, and depression and relate them all to the ottawa charter!
