I've always had crap english teachers, and this year I don't have a teacher until next term. I was wondering, what are aural techniques in films? The only one I can think of is music.

And what are some visual techniques used, besides from camera shots and colour/lighting

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

For aural techniques you could include narration, dialogue, etc.

Visual: Costuming, imagery, symbols, motifs...

thanks

if people in photos start to talk, is this considered an aural technique, as we don't normally hear photos talk, or a visual technique, as the photo starts to move???

errm you shouldn't really talk about what the people in the photo say.. because you're analysing the photo as a visual medium
give the context of the photo, but don't dwell on it, focus on the techniques.

but i think they're analysing the film with a photo in it, in which the photo would be visual but could contain verbal techniques
