Hey'all.

I'm looking for someone interested in teaching a small art class for kids aged around preschool to around year 3.
The place is near Carlingford Court.
It'd be for an hour or two hours a week on Saturday afternoons.
Probably somewhere between $15 to $20 per hour.

If you're interested or have any questions, please leave me an email ASAP
yaewon86@hotmail.com
or call me at 0414 886 764.

Are you sure you want an art tutor because you are only offering babysitting rates of pay. and pretty low ones at that.

an art tutor is usually paid approx $40 ph and up

I am not sure what your point is.

SHould just anyone look after children or should they know what they are doing?

If you see art as valuable should you pay a reasonable amount to access a specialist art person?

Should child care be the bastion of slave wages because mostly women do it?

I don't know what you are trying to say.

What is your point?

Im saying that the quality of the tutors art skills are probably not of paramount importance.

So you are suggesting the add should read say

babysitter required for pre-school children, some knowledge of childcare and art skills required. I am prepared to pay an hourly rate most schoolgirls get for looking after one child.

You will be solely responsible for the care and safety of the children, no criminality check required as I don't know how to check such things.

Children are our most precious responsibility, they deserve the greatest care and nurturing. Why is this activity, like art, so devalued?

Anyone can teach 3yrs old to do art.
Just wanted to point out - the first post said Preschool to 'Year 3'

Therefore the kids would be more like 4-9

I do not mean to put down as such more to highlight the need for greater thought to go into the needs of children and the proper value of the care and for that matter art too.

Is wanting something better for children a bad thing
