hey pplz im making my armature out of steel right with 3 arms, but, i was looking for advice, as to how many layers my armature should be in order to reduce eddy currents (heat). Also would u also tell me how many plates i must use on my commutator, if i have 3 arms on my armature.

Or does the amount of layers of my armature affect wat i have to do with the commutator???

It really depends on how good you want your motor to be.

let's say each layer should be less than 2 mm thick.

you use 3 plates for the commutator, with 2 brushes.

and connect each plate with 2 coils
