All my perferences are to be either an art teacher in high school or teach early childhood, which is kids aged 0-8.
Im thinking of working so i can teach art and something else, because schools dont always look for art teachers. Im thinking either english or something else.
So...yeh.

I'm thinking of doing either the B Education (Secondary: Humanities and Social Sciences)/ B Arts at USyd or B Arts/ Dip Ed. at Macquarie. The Macquarie one looks really awesome - I was totally sold on it at the open day, not to mention the fact that some of my favourite teachers did the Macquarie course.

darkroomgirl, I hear ya! I tell some people I'm going to do teaching (pref. to end up teaching English/Drama/History) and they give me this LOOK that makes me want to punch them and then say "uhhh... but you got 98.05... why bother? you could do, like, law" - but really, why would I do law if I WANTED to be a teacher?! It's so annoying as to how some people sneer at others wanting to do teaching, especially considering they wouldn't want their children/grandchildren to be taught by morons.

Go team future teachers!

Do you have to have a 2nd subject that you can teach because in the B Teaching/B Arts - Computing the arts subjects are communications, drama, japanesse, music or philosophy? Im going to choose as communication as my 2nd pref is communication. Also if I do this course how can I qualify to be able to teach another subject or is the compulsary technology subjects with computing the 2nd subject?

BA/BEdu at USYD and UNSW are in my preferences, and if I do any other degree I plan to cap it off with a Graduate Bachelor of Education from MQ or Master of Teaching from USYD so being a teacher is definitely where I'm headed. I intend to teach at high school for english and either french, society & culture, history or drama(not quite 100% on my second teaching method yet as you can see:p).

Primary teaching.

I will either go to Southern Cross Lismore because I think it looks like a great uni, ort Charles Sturt Bathurst, since the teaching courses are really renouned there (there was a 100-year-old teaching college which amalgamated with the Uni or something)

Today I went to school and some of the better teachers were very happy about my choice to study teaching. Some were like, "You got 97.5? Wouldn't you wanna do something more, uh, stimulating?!" How offensive. You could really see who's in the job for the right reasons.

hey i was going to do Law but i am thinking about teaching now. I am in America at the moment so i don't have my UAC book here so can you telll me about the course and cutoff mark. What made you choose this course? I love society and culture, community and family and Ab studies, do you think this course would be good for me?

The difference is, in Technology you do woodwork and sowing in your first year you also do two design unit's I think and two computing units and two edu. units. With computers I think you pretty much do just computing.

www.acu.edu.au has an online handbook some where it'll help you with some into.
