lol im not asking for notes(hehe its dats wat u think the reason to start this thread was), since most chinese on the BOS forum is like fluent in english, so i was wondering if any of u r doing chinese background? im doing it, but i REGRET it heaps, i enjoy the subject the lessons, however i hate it when i get results back, completing with ppl who just came from china is realli not that fair considerin i grew up here...so anyone?

seems like a lot of people do chinese.
just look at how many people view this forum:22,xxx. i am afraid this might scale me down.

i do chinese background. it's a pretty rewarding course, getting high marks isn't hard but i'm afraid it will be much more difficult in the hsc. yeah the scaling's not fab but since minimal effort is needed in this course (for me), it's worth it.

if anyone would like to share notes, i'm happy to upload mine

bad scaling doesn't mean u can't get good marks from it...

a friend of mine did 10 u including chinese bs... and she still got 98.65 uai, something like 02 or sth for chinese bs... i went totally o_O

can i ask what else did she choose? because she could do Eng Adv, Maths4u...

last year in our school, a girl did ESL, Vietnamese bs, chemistry, Maths4u, then she got 95.00 UAI !!!

I'm in the same boat as Tao. :p Perhaps an even worse one.

I suck balls at Chinese Background. But then, Continuers is way too easy for me. So I've been stuck with newly-arrived-from-China kids for a couple of years.

This is outside my 10 units, and I'm sure my results in it won't be anywhere near better than any of my subjects at school, so meh.

she could have scored more points through EAS as well.

No. She is an oversea student, so she was not allowed to get any extra mark through EAS. man it's her true ability.

Last year our dux did ESL, 4u maths, physics, chemistry, Chinese background.

And she got 99.85 UAI. Take THAT.

ps. Dreamerish I don't understand you. Stuck with fobs for a couple of years?

OMG, did she come first in all her school assessments?
how long has she been in Australia?
what school are u in?...

such a pity she couldn't get 99.95, otherwise she could do medicine...

First in Chinese and ESL I'm sure, forgot her other ranks - she didn't come first for everything.

I think she came to Australia in yr 10.
