In this question I differed from PC's. he got 187.5, I got 166.66, Heres my working.

Q28 (iii) 1. weight in kg = 2/3(height in cm)-50
75 = 2/3(height)-50
125 = 2/3(height)
125x1.3333333 = height
166.666=height

there ur answers and 19 could be wrong...
i dont care if its right or wrong i got 21.. i want that extra mark
its COMPOUND INTEREST, NOT SIMPLE interest.

your working was 250x0.0005x30 which is the simple interest formula (I=PRN)

The question states:
Kerry has a credit card. She is charge 0.05% compound interest per day on outstanding balances.

How much nterest is Kerry charged on an amount of $250, which is outstanding on her credit card for 30 days?
Therefor you use the compound interest formula:
P(1+r)^n
250(1.0005)^30 = $3.78

That would be correct if you were finding the mean score, however the line of regression requires the median score.

50, 55, 70 - median is 55. You then put the dot in the middle of the group

Oh, I see where I went wrong now with question 27 b (ii), I hate silly mistakes like that! Actually you know what question was really simple, question 13. I was thinking to myself "this is so simple, it has to be a trick question!" What was the question you find the simplest?

..

yeh....except the other A and B points seemed to use the mean...i.e- point A..if it was the median wouldnt they use point 70,155? but instead they used (60,155)

Group 1 - 50, 60, 70 - median of 60 - point was 155,60
Group 2 - 50, 55, 70 - median of 55 - point is 170, 55
Group 3 - 70, 80, 90 - median of 70 - point was 185,80

edit: thought i'd quote steph so you'd know who I was talkin to!

For Question 28 b I used devide by k and found k to be 20.. that's about the same right? lemme check

10^3*0.05=
1000*0.05=50
10^3/20=
1000/20=50

Hrm wonder if i will still get the same marks..

Also could someone please explain how they got the answer to question 24 (c) (ii), I usually quite like z-scores and the like, but this one just threw me off! I don't know why it matters any more as I never have to do it again...
You know what? Question 25 (b) (i) was worth 2 marks, when it was a simple calculation of 3!, not that I care because I got it right!
Oh you know what else? I got so scared during the exam because at the end of Question 26 it doesnt say "End of Question 26" and I thought I was missing a page! But who notices things like that? - Obviously me! Okay thats enought of my rambling!

24. (c) ii) - 150-190 is 95% of the data. 16-180 is 68% of the data. (95%-68%)/2 = 13.5%

Cheers

Q2: The vertical axis is going up by 5 at a time, while the horizontal axis is only going up by one at a time. So if you just look at the "squares" you think the slope is 1, but it's really 5.

It's a really nasty question. It looks really easy but you had to read the question carefully.

Q22: A$1 = €0.62
So A$25 = 25 x 0.62 = €15.50

Then V$1 = €1.44
So €15.50 = 15.50 ÷ 1.44 = V$10.76

So A$25 = V$10.76 (less transaction fees of course)

Also there is another way to PC's to find the gradient
Gradient = rise over run
= 20 divided by 4
= 5 (B)
