Is there any kind of cap on this "indefinate" postponement? Will it be by March 2004 (when uni starts for the current BoS'ers)?

yeah, what I meant was that if it is delayed then more people should have turned 18 by then...and thus, more people will probably be able to go.
nice logic... :p

Tough break guys, but One World are notorious for screwing ppl around, the grade above us ended up cancelling their afters their last year cos they were being jerks, they screwed us around with pricing and arrangements also this year. Not very reliable! But its an awesome night if it does happen....

Why was One World over 18s only? We had our afters there recently (most awesome night!) and everyone was allowed in!

Number of patrons? A few hundred?

Ambition expects over a thousand? (selling alcohol too, I might add). :)

I'd much prefer a BBQ over a dance party, but I'll attend both. :)

I don't like dance parties. By "don't like" I mean "have a pathalogical fear of". Our formal was like a dance party with suits, it was disastrous. And too many couples. But the WORST bit was the cameras. Oh the horror.

No, I think a barbecue would be much nicer. I can do outside. :)

ahah yeah at least everyone can attend ;)
Not to mention being far easier to organise venue wise. You could just ask Canada Bay Council (Tim, this is you) for permission to hold a social gathering in Bicentennial Park for no more than 1000 people (like they'll check). Then everyone chips in ten bucks for the food et cetera. Obviously nobody will be able to drink (since it's illegal to drink in the park) but hopefully the atmosphere will be such that you won't NEED drinks to socialise well.

food is tricky organising.

it's hard enough to organise it for ~60 ppl

One word: BYO. Make that three ;)

I agree with fatmuscle, they'll be people who'll end up trying to avoid paying (entirely), those who are not BOS members - although should this really matter? I'd prefer to have a strictly BOS affair, instead of a conversation along the lines of:

"So, you're 18... me too! <awkward silence>"

At least if you're on BOS, you've already got something in common. :)

We should just have a casual gettogether then.. it'd be easier

Though the food issue would be quite tricky, as well as the wide geographical distribution of the members

Well, the geography simply can't be avoided. BYO is a good deal. It'll be "show up, bring eats". Yay.

some cheapos might rock up without food and will expect others to provide for them. maybe it should be members only, because you'll have poeple gatecrashing it..
