i got to school ranked 300, and my marks up till now are

maths 2u test on algebra: 94% rank 2 / 41
maths 2u half-yearly above + plane geo + functions: 85% rank 5/41

overall rank: 4/41

maths 3u test on polynomials and inequalities: 86% rank 1/20
maths 3u half-yearly circle geo and above topices: 76% rank 2/20

Overall rank: 1/20

I find 2u a joke right now, the concepts are just yr 10, tbh, and 3u is new concepts but i am getting most of em

Your score shouldn't matter, if you find the concepts easy you should do it. I suspect those marks are results from silly mistakes? Clean up your algebra and get ready for long proofs and you should be fine.

you should be fine if you find 2u a joke. i kind of did as well when i was in year 11 - so just give it a go.

Try it for a term (atleast) and drop it if you cbb doing it, but you should be good.

Dont drop it before atleast a term tho

Yeah, my school was ranked 138 last year and our MX1 class was like 10 people and my class now has like 8...
Also, do MX2 it's not completely impossible and you'll get good marks if you're coming second in MX1

Yeah, I wonder how many from their school do MX2.
It's usually 3 at my school but this year there are 4.
Also, there is NEVER an EE2 class at my school and only 3 doing EE1 this year.

give it a go , and even if you struggle with some of the concepts, the scaling would make it up

scaling-wise, it gives you more better-scaling units since mx1 only counts as 1 unit if you do 3u maths

also from your current results , you shouldn't find it too hard

Yes you're fit for 4U but you will likely only be getting average grades compared to the rest of the state in the HSC. When I was doing 2U Algebra in year 10/11, I got like 97% and was considered only average at Maths. Our papers would probably be considered above-average in level of difficulty. My school isn't top 10 either... Some people doing 4U in my school did get E4 but most didn't.

84 last year, our teacher who's a hsc marker showed us the stats

I'm not sure if I should do 4u too :/
I want to give it a go, but my tutor told us that it was a total waste of time and that it'll bring your hsc down or something.
I'm ranked third in maths extension (out of 13) and fifth in mathematics (out of like 36...unless it was 46? :S)
