Hi, I'm going on my first cruise in a few weeks , I can't wait:)

Did you get seasick?
What happens on theme nights(apart from dressing up)?
Did you go on any shore tours? any recommendations?
How much does it cost for formal photos onboard?
Any other advice or tips would be great.
Thanks:)

i didnt get seasick. but thats coz ive been on yachts and boats and stuff since before i could walk. make sure you have travel insurance so that if you get seasick the doc can give you a jab and you're alright.
shore tours... anything that involves a jetski... GET INTO IT! its SO much fun! omgosh.
as for theme nights, they're pretty alright. by the end of it people get over themes and most of them just go out partying in normal gear. but it adds a bit of fun to the cruise and being creative is fun :p
one thing i would say is dont think you're gonna get fed crap. we were on a schoolies cruise and got 5 course dinners and lunches, and the BEST breakfasts. its freaking awesome.
i'm going back on a cruise as soon as i get the dosh.

Thanks az:)sound great!
Yeah I have travel insurance, I hope I don't get sick and need the jab!
Jet ski-sounds fun, I want to buy a waverunner oneday!
They havn't told us which theme nights we have yet, i'll have to call them.Yeah I probably won't dress up for every theme night, but I will for formal & island night.
The food sounds good!
I'm already thinking about another one and I havn't been on this one yet.

3. DONT MIX SEASICK TABLETS WITH ALCOHOL!!! forget the tablets stick to the alcohol!!!

4. Make the most of it and have fun...dont be scared to talk or meet new people, trust me you will come home regretin it!!!

1. I didn't but my friends did. Its mainly the first 2 days and then they were fine. Some people do and some people don't so who knows.

2. Drinking! I think they have few events going on but I didn't really get much into those just more drinking.

3. We didn't go on any paid ones but from what I heard some of the tours were pretty good. I would reccommend a tour if you are going to Noumea as you won't miss much in the city as it wasnt very great whereas the other stops are really great even without tours. You can organise tours on the boat though so just ask the purser or someone.

4. No Idea. Never bought one :D

GO ITS FREAKING AWESOME

The first cruise i went on was one of the best experiences of my life. I was one of the lucky ones and dint get sea sick!!!

Some advice:
I heard this off someone i met on a cruise: if you are feeling sea sick, you shouldnt get off the boat at the stops, you should stay onboard and get your 'sea legs' (i dont know if this works, but its worth a shot)

Also, arrive early for the shows to get good seats, it fills up really quickly just before show time!!!

Good luck on your cruise, and Bon Voyage!

i was so glad i had a boyfriend for the cruise :p
He didnt come with me, but seeing the "talent" there, I was glad I was just spending time with my mates and checking the islands out really early before anyone else was there and chilling rather than hooking into guys. it was awesome that i got to be myself and not care about what people thought or who had the hots for me or who hated me. and i had a hot boyfriend to come home to haha.
most of the guys you'll meet there will be pretty cool, but the kinda guys most girls think of as "attractive but mates" rather than "omfg hot". there are a few hot ones but most of them are wogs. they're great fun though, awesome to party with.

150% wrong. nobody will sell you or permit you to have alcohol in the bars or clubs if you're under 18. security is patroling all the time. you might be able to sneak a few swigs from someone elses drink but thats all.

the trick is get someone who is over 18 to buy you drinks and bring them back to the room.

What happens on theme nights(apart from dressing up)? On selected theme nights they run a photo studio on the main deck. for e.g. for pyjama night they had a bed scene and most people did a porn shot lol
Did you go on any shore tours? any recommendations? i didnt go on any because i heard they were a waste of time but i wanted to go on the jet ski one :-(
How much does it cost for formal photos onboard? Its like $4 per photo... bloody rip off
Random tips:
  • Make sure you trust the people in your cabin
  • You have to watch sunset and surise on most nights
  • At dinner, the bread rolls are probably the nicext rolls you wwill ever have
  • Electric Lemonades arent as sweet as they sound lol
  • Security guards arent as bad as you think. I had a conversation with one of them after he busted me drinking lol
  • Dont be scared to meet new people, you wont regret it
  • The clubs are the place to be from 11pm onwards
  • Start at the Terrace.... Then the Oz Bar.... And at about 2am goto the deck and party til sunset
  • Join the LPC (Lift Party Crew) and get smashed with about 20 people crammed into 1 lift.... its mad

Thats all i can think of

My sister went on her schoolies cruise about 5 years ago (when it was the Pacific Sky) and she said they had huge deck parties every night...like on the ads....but when she went on the Sun earlier last year she said there wasn't really the big deck parties, just nightclubs inside the ship...

SO, are there all-night deck parties or the sun or not?

You will get caught. Trust me. Best thing to do is get someone to buy ur drinks and bring them back to the cabin... garunteed way always works. then just fix ur mates up with cash (I took $800 and i was fine, i was 17)
