iiNet use Telstra, but I recommend Westnet now, as they now offer services in NSW at better value.
Do NOT touch a comindico reseller what ever you do, including ozforces/inspired/watever.

If you want unlimited ADSL, the only option is with Dart.

Best unlim ISP there is in australia. I use em :)
(Note: they aren't dodgy either, it's more reliable than iinet ever was).

I'm not all that interested in unlimited because it's more gigs than I'll ever need :)p) and I'm happy to stick with 4.5 per month. It's the service, included features etc that I'm interested in.

That sounds good. Can anyone tell me about modems now? My parents want a hub for the network I'm going to progressively build them, which means they will also want a router. Should I get a router/modem and hub or a router/hub and modem?

And what's this "Billion" modem you all keep talking about?

Billion is a popular brand of ADSL equipment, providing quality equipment at low costs (sounds like an ad.. :/). I'm using their 711CE right now... modem/router... haven't had any problems since I bought it, and it cost $150. Their website is www.ausadsl.info so you can check them out.

Pricing is good.

People have complained about the quality of it, such as down times and connection issues.

So how much does this Billion modem go for wholesale? Do they do combimodems?

And someone tell me which is better - modem/router + hub or modem + router/hub!

Not sure about that.... never found a place to buy it wholesale.

I guess that depends on how big your network is and what you want to include in it... If it's about 3/4 computers, you can get a modem/router with 4 ports, so you won't need to buy an extra switch. If you have a larger network, with a printer or something, you can get a modem/router with one port which you can connect to an 8 port switch.

Yeah, 3~4 is about as big as it will get, but there will be multiple printers, scanners etc. Device sharing will just have to go through host computers I guess...

Billion will be releasing new 4 port routers for $99 just in time for xmas.
For unlimited, I recommend Dart internet.
It's NOT comindico, NO port shaping/throttling, NO limits, and you get the speed you pay for. I find the service better than I found iiNet, yet iinet has quotas. Go figure :S

Is Dart really better than iiNet? Because I don't really have anything to go by (for Dart) other than what you guys here tell me.
