hey im an 05er and wish to apply for actuarial co op. How many are actually accepted each year? also is the only difference between a finance and actuarial co op the work u do on IT or do u have to do certain courses. Iwas planning on doin a double major in finance and actuarial so i wouldnt mind either an actuarial or finance co op but is one better than the other?

Well it just depends on what you want to do - I dont know much about the Finance major, but actuarial studies is heavily involved with probabilities, risk management (eg in insurance companies), and that sort of thing. You have to work out for yourself which one you think you'd like more.

from my understanding you cannot double major if you do co-op
so choose one and stick with it

that is, if you get coop for actuarial you cannot major in finance as well
vice-versa

you can do a double major...almost every actuarial co-op also majors in finance
your just cant do a combined degree (e.g. BCom/BScience)
