well that actually works, you would have the book for all the stamps to put in, but not the stampsyeah you would
it's like saying non-stamp-collecting is a hobby

Obviously the idea of God carries a bit more weight and significance than the idea of unicorns. If unicorn do exist, how does that change your life?.
i think you just described the universeIt has nothing to do with "impact" or "significance". it's all about proof.
Can you prove the existence of god any more than you can of unicorns?
coz to me a horse that happens to have a horn attached to it's head (so essentially a mix between two OBSERVED animals, horse and rhino) sounds more likely than some infinitely complex all powerful being existing
Depends on your point of view. For me, if a God existed, it'd be far more likely that such an entity wouldn't give a rat's arse about one little short-lived race (it is a big universe). So if a God existed, it wouldn't be particularly relevant at all, except in a "oh, that's interesting" kind of way.Because people aren't ignorant tards like you. Obviously the idea of God carries a bit more weight and significance than the idea of unicorns. If unicorn do exist, how does that change your life? God has universal relevance, I'm afraid.
the universe is not a beingi think you just described the universe
It essentially is if you're a solipsist.the universe is not a being
you mean sophistIt essentially is if you're a solipsist.
And if the Christian God *did* exist?Depends on your point of view. At best I would ignore his existence (assuming he has ours), at worst I would not want anything to do with such vile scum (assuming he were actively involved in our existence). And if the Christian God *did* exist?
Oh wow that is so original. Pink unicorns? That's a laugh, haven't heard that before, where do you come up with this stuff? The fact remains, though, that the Christian God and his accompanying book of stories is about as ludicrous as the existence of an invisible pink unicorn, even if one accepts the supposition of the existence of a supernatural entity!
You didn't actually respond to my point. Have another go son.Oh wow that is so original. Pink unicorns? That's a laugh, haven't heard that before, where do you come up with this stuff?
Same old arguments that have failed to destroy religion a thousand times before, it's not going to work this time either, sorry.
Enter invisible unicorns that sprinkle their horn-dust on unknowing humans, infusing their being with compassion, humility, sexual prowess and an aptitude for ball sports.Because people aren't ignorant tards like you. Obviously the idea of God carries a bit more weight and significance than the idea of unicorns. If unicorn do exist, how does that change your life? God has universal relevance, I'm afraid.
And defending the concept of a god is the most original idea out...Oh wow that is so original. Pink unicorns? That's a laugh, haven't heard that before, where do you come up with this stuff?

And I love how atheists (or whatever you define yourselves as, following on from that debate earlier) seem to think being overbearingly arrogant and adopting a vicious mob mentality will somehow convince people of their 'cause'?And defending the concept of a god is the most original idea out...
I like how you seem to think being condescending here makes you look intellectually superior to the observer, the same one that's read you consistently spout nonsense.
Slidey, what do you want me to say? It's your choice to go to hell?I would not want anything to do with such vile scum
I'm sorry, but if God exists how that does that change my life? How is my life, as an atheist, fundamentally different from someone like you, who is a theist?Because people aren't ignorant tards like you. Obviously the idea of God carries a bit more weight and significance than the idea of unicorns. If unicorn do exist, how does that change your life? God has universal relevance, I'm afraid.
Utterly outrageous.
I grudgingly +1 this because while I oppose the bible in every way, this is also an acceptable idea.i think abbott's idea would be fair if the bible was introduced as a text to study critically. he suggests familiarity with great texts which is fantastic. so introduce it alongside crime & punishment and don quixote. unfortunately i doubt thats what abbott was suggesting; he's a bible bashing imbecile.
