To ensure the safety of data, an organisation must have well-defined procedures for backing-up its files. back ups need to be carefully planned and carried out systematically.

An independant bookshop in a major city in Aus approaches you to devise a back up system for thier computer files.

Recommend an appropiete system for the bookstore and expalin how the backup system can be used to restore the files in the event of a major crash.

Now how the heck can you answer that?

You need to access on first of all how big the backup will actually be, then talk about the steps to undertake it, where the backup will be stored, talk about retention period, as well as archival backup and incremental backup.

Also one important one will be talking about Disaster Recovery Plan's

Copy the system to a tape drive at the end of every day and simply backup off that??
or maybe have two identical servers, one being updated every day, so that if the primary goes down, the secondary can stand in?

im unsure.. it needs to be more specific.
backup system of what? file server? :S :S
