gather, process and analyse information to identify the cause and effect relationship of smoking and lung cancer

Do i have to talk about the history of lung cancer and when the evidence arose? I've already written about the causes of lung cancer, what else should i include?

im not too sure.. but mabey instead of just stating the general causes (i.e. smoking etc.) saying exactly what causes it in the lungs. (i.e. excess build up or tar / addictive nicotine / carcinogenous chemicals)

thats how i understood it ...
