can someone give me study tips to ace hsc and year 12 overall
To be honest, all you need to do is work hard, learn from your mistakes and stay consistent. There will be a lot of sacrifices you have to make if you want to succeed, so you've got to find a reason why you want to ace HSC. Something like getting into a good course, such as Med, will help you stay focused and guided when it gets tough. And it will definitely get tough during the year. Even if you study 6 hours a day like I did, it's impossible not to make mistakes. Inevitably, you will mess up exams and be disappointed with your results. The most important thing to do is to track these mistakes and learn from them so that when they come up again, you are prepared to ace them. I kept a spreadsheet of all my marks, mistakes, and the reasons I got the questions wrong, and it helped heaps by eliminating any silly mistakes.

Apart from that, there isn't really any cheat code to succeeding in Year 12. Just have a goal, work hard towards it and stay consistent. Just as a fair warning, at times it will become incredibly lonely and mentally taxing during HSC. There will be times when you don't want to continue studying, especially after trials, when it feels like the year has kept on for so long. It's times like this where you just need to keep pushing.

The good news, though, is that you will eventually succeed. It's just going to feel like hell before you do. Good luck with your HSC. :)

I'm so confused and this is like the easiest year 12 topic.

When your translating Q(2,-6) for f(x-5)+3, when you shift it to the right by 5 wouldn't that make the x coordinate 7 because you are moving it 5 times to the right. I'm so confused cause it's supposed to make the x coordinate -4
Point Q is already on the graph y = f(x - 5) + 3
From point Q to point P, there is a difference of 6 units to the right.
Because you are going from (x-5) to (x-11)
I'm not sure why it's negative, honestly, but it is 2 ± 6, which would be 8 or -4.

Hey guys,

I am offering English Advanced tutoring on these three texts: Waste Land (Lucy Walker), Hagseed/Tempest, T.S Elliot. I had a band 6 result in trials (Currently awaiting HSC results). Scoring between 18-19/20 on essays marked by teachers who have 10+ years experience as HSC markers.
Happy to negotiate costs as my primary goal is to hand on the knowledge that I've gained to upcoming students as English was a subject I struggled with in year 11 but was able to drastically improve with the aid of some particular strategies that I think are extremely beneficial.
If you are interested please send me a message and I'll be sure to reach out.

I am also offering affordable math tutoring for years 7-12 and have recently completed math extension 2 in the HSC. I can also do PDHPE if needed too.
I can do private one-on-one tutoring for $50 an hour, or a group 1 hour session (3+ people) for $25 each.
I have access to great resources and as a recent high school graduate, can best prepare you for what will come in the HSC.
Sessions will involve reviewing content learned in class, consolidating it through harder questions and having homework questions each week to expand your critical thinking skills.

If you have any questions or are interested please reach out by replying to this thread and I will be sure to get back to you quickly.

You just have to build the mindset that anxiety will ruin your exam performance; the exam is not testing you on how much you feel but on what you can write. In the moment you really have to strip year 12 out of all of its weight and see it for what it is: you writing on a paper. Another thing I would do (totally up to you) is take St John's wort, which is an herb in a capsule that calms you down, this carried me through trials and HSC. Also, take walks, listen to music and exercise, it's a great way to burn off the stress. Good luck!

I feel like just letting go and going with the flow helped me. Also just reminding myself that there's many other ways to success in life and it doesn't have to be determined by the hsc. I mean its hard but that was the only way I could get rid of my anxiety

doesn't that just give u more anxiety. it def did for me
That all youre doing is writing on a piece of paper? I mean, not for me personally. In prelims I would be very nervous and underperform due to my anxiety, so in year 12 I made it very clear that in order to succeed, my brain must be clear. I've noticed every time I was anxious, my essays would be confusing and reflect the state of mind I was in.

Yeah that works too but it could also make you partially give up on what you want to achieve

But honestly for me I do better when I do 0 study than when I study so much and end up doing poorly cause of anxiety. My anxiety is so bad that even when I get a tiny bit stressed my whole world comes crashing down so I just need to try and stop caring as much as possible. But obv I will care so I'll still put in some effort but not stress too much

If that works for you, then go right ahead, I was just responding to pradhyumn's question
