sameye but i still procrastinate too much
seeing myself on the distinguished achievers list this year made me want to see myself there next yearIs anyone else feeling more motivated after seeing the HSC results today? Two people I know got 90+ atars (one got a 99+ and a top 10 state rank for one subject) and now I'm feeling really competitive & motivated to (hopefully) achieve similarly.
yes exactly! getting a band 6 in maths which was not expected makes my aiming for an all rounder award even more attainable. i'm also just excited to be nosy and see how the people i went to primary school with did lmaoseeing myself on the distinguished achievers list this year made me want to see myself there next year, we have a fair amount of state rankers at my school too so i'm honestly interested to see who from my cohort grabs one too
same!Is anyone else feeling more motivated after seeing the HSC results today? Two people I know got 90+ atars (one got a 99+ and a top 10 state rank for one subject) and now I'm feeling really competitive & motivated to (hopefully) achieve similarly.
fr man one of my good mates got a 99.95 today n I saw him work really hard n it has motivated me to invest n stay disciplined for the HSC journey. Is anyone else feeling more motivated after seeing the HSC results today? kind of similar sentiment with me - my school is still in the top ten but apparently the cohort this year was weaker than the one before them, i want to do well because if i see my school rank drop after being consistently ranked pretty high (which is a realistic fear among my cohort actually lmao) that would be embarrassing for my gradeYes definitely, especially after seeing my own religion hsc result
I was also shocked to see my school do just as poorly as last year, which sorta serves as motivation to rank well — I suppose this is the opposite of you seeing people with high atars and results
was going to do his ext but ended up not doing itHey! Is anyone doing his ext here? If so do you have your question yet, I kinda don't and I'm freaking out. I wanna do controversies around the Unknown Mayan decline but idk anything. I just wanna do something around ancient south American history because it just really interests me, if anyone has ideas pls tell me.
Thanks for replying! The toltecs sound really interesting to me from the little reasearch I just did, I think I might look at the Aztecs histiography of the toltects and yeah the authenticity of their myths around the civilization. Thanks a lot!was going to do his ext but ended up not doing ithave you asked your classmates or your teachers? mesoamerican history is always so interesting and something not many people touch on. the unknown mayan decline sounds so interesting already, but if you end up not wanting to do it, other mysteries that i've considered pretty interesting are the disappearances of the olmec civilisations and the legends surrounding the toltec empire; the olmecs disappeared around i think 300 BC? and the toltecs are cool because a chunk of what we know about them and their history were spread by aztecs and the myths they told so there's been debate about what parts were true and what weren't, and also debates on just how mayans and toltecs influenced or interacted with eo based on what little historical evidence we have
but yeah the mayan decline sounds really interesting, make sure to ask your teachers if you need clarification on it though
Im doing his ext as well and i agree 100%! Your topic sounds really interesting, just remember to focus ur research on the four questions -i do history extension!! i guess the thing to keep in mind is make sure you're analysing the creation of history not history itself - like i don't know much about the Mayan decline but you could talk about the proposed theories and the historical evidence behind them and the historians purporting them, i.e. potential motivations a historian might have to back that theory.
i really don't know other than that! not very familiar with south american history unfortunately. i'm doing mine on the boundary between history and fiction, and how we define ancient works, that may be more fictive. my case study is plutarch on alexander the greatidk if that helps but my proposal got full marks so i guess it's an okay basis?
