"How might different productions dramatise the struggle between chaos and order in King Lear?"

It says 'might', so does that mean I have to talk about hypothetical productions, not existing ones? (ie. say, in a feminist production, so and so should be done to portray order/chaos, and in a nihilistic production, a different approach can be used...)

Looking at the band 5/6 response from the standards package, it talks about real productions at first, assesses their effectiveness, and then explains how certain scenes SHOULD be performed in order to dramatise the order/chaos theme.

I'm confused :(

As it doesn't specifically *exclude* existing productions, I say you can use them ;) But I imagine they would like to have a "hypothetical" component, which is where you insert all the stuff about "Now, if it was done *this* way..." etc etc. But don't kill yourself with hypothetical situations - this is Eng Adv, they want solid stuff. :)

In my generic essay I have contrasted my version to Peter Brooks,

the "might" I think refers to both real and hypothetical
since its asking you for any possible production techniques,

So in short, I would discuss how the real production has already been done
and then add a hypothetical of my own

since you have all the info this is my set up

Intro- (Textual Integrity and Reception over time)
Critics- (interpretations over time)
My production- (reading + themes) 1 scene
Brooks (reading + themes) same scene
Repeat with a 2nd scene
Conclusion

are you using another production aswell?
