A person 2m tall is standing on the ground and looking up at the top of a building. If the person is 18m from the bulding and the angle of elvation of the top of the building is 30 degrees calculate the height of the bulding

tan 30 = x/18
.:x = tan 30 * 18
= 10.4 (1 d.p.)
But that's only from the person's head.
You still have to add two metres (the person's height)

.:h = 12.4 (am I right?)
