I want to do 14 units for 11 prelim but my school won't allow me to that much unless I do agriculture. It's not fair.

I don't think it's unreasonable for you to want to do that. My school allows it, I know, because my friend did 14 units too. 4 of them were nursing, and 10 were normal subjects. This year, her nursing is worth 2 units but they don't count towards her UAI, so she still has to do the 10 from her prelim course.

For Year 11, 14 units might be OK although I still found it fairly tough with 13U this year. For the HSC I'm doing 14U but I've already done 2 of them.

My advice: Just do the 14U if your school permits you too. IMO it's better to drop one subject than to regret not having done another one. Try 14U for a couple of months (until you've had at least one assessment for each subject), and then drop one subject if you feel you don't like it or the workload is too great.

do you go to james ruse or something (seeing as they're so keen on ag)? maybe you could do distance education? or register your 14units with your school and if they don't have the facilities, go to another school that does have the facilities to hold the 13-14th unit(s). some people here have done most of their subjects at their normal schools and travel to another school for the subjects that their schools don't haev the facilities to support those extra units

Our school lets you do 14u.

But a word of caution (hehe love that quote) - I did 13 and found it prfetty hard.

What subjects are you doing?

My school is loathe to let people do 13, let alone 14! Honestly, unless you've accelerated at least 2u, it's too much, and why put yourself through the hassle?

it really isn't worth it unless you're uncertain with your future. it becomes an overload. if they're all academic subjects, i would like to present you a shovel at the start of year 11. your diggin your grave mate.

I managed to handle 13 units for Year 11 (2004), but there were brief periods where it was tough i.e. there were clumps of assessments all crammed into a 1 or 2 week period. Other than that, it's fine. If you can cope with a couple of "assessment-loaded" periods, then you should be OK.

Like I said earlier, try out the 14 units. If you can't cope, then drop 1 or 2.

I think 14U for the HSC is a bit much - only 10 count anyway...unless you're accelerating 2U or something, in which case 14U is probably fine (i.e. only doing 12 at the time).

I did 13 for year 11. My school lets you do 15 max.
