What happens if your schOol is the shit of the shit of the SHIT?

I am just emphasising on how shit my school is.

Is 100 even possible then? Even if you top all your subjects?

But I don't think even the people with 100 UAI get full marks... Do they?
no
all you need is a 485+ scaled aggregate (out of 500) and it changes from year to year, but not by that much

If you're top 4-5 in any of the top 5 schools (and a bit more for Ruse) then I think you're in a good position to get 100.

modezero, I remember you telling me once that it's impossible to get a scaled aggregate of 100 for any single subject. Why is that though?

not exactly impossible, only impossible for certain subjects.
I believe that if you get an overall HSC mark of 100 (ie both HSC mark and school moderated mark of 100), you get a scaled score of 100 for most subjects.
Like crazedmo said, trying putting in 100 for different subjects in SAM for the 2004 data.

How do you use SAM to measure the maximum UAI you can get?

Just wondering..
is this the thing that you type in your marks and it estimates?

however, remember that SAM is based on past UAI scaling methods, which differe every single year

so the way a subject is scaled in 2005 for instance will be different from how it scales in 2006 or 2007

by the way, it doesn't matter what type of school u go to, if u rank 1st and own ur hsc external exams, u can get 100 UAI

That's incorrect - if you are first in the state for any decent subject - as an approximation that is anything that scales better than SDD, you will get an aggregate of 50 for that subject ie for a 2U subject 100. Most subjects will begin to scale up above a certain point.
Right. Thanks for that :)

And if you're wondering what an 06er is doing in the prelim forums - I should be studying for Legal Studies, but I'm procrastinating because Legal Studies is ridiculously easy and not until Wednesday.
XD Good luck for Wednesday :)
