    really BAD and wrong questions!!!!!

They use two factors in bone mass densitometry - velocity of sound through the bone, and attentuation of the sound wave by the bone. More dense bone = faster speed of sound and more attenuation Healthy bone denser than osteoporotic bone. Therefore blah blah blah

    The Three Year RUle

It's actually a five year rule, but there is definitely going to be some overlap in what questions they select this year compared to the last two years. Count on a titration question being in there somewhere...

    Medical Physics Option? WTF!?!

Yeah, I caught the 'display' bit at the end of that 8-marker just in time as well. With the bone density, the properties I put down were: 1. Different velocity in materials of different density. 2. Different attenuation in materials of different density both of which are measured in bone...

    Projectile prediction

Need initial velocity of projectile, unless that ramp was set up at -10 degrees.

    raw marks

At least 80 *hopes really really hard*

    Question 8

It was better overall than what I was expecting. First couple of questions were really good :D , but the remainder were not so good  . And that projectile motion question was purely evil. :chainsaw:

    Question 8

Yep, pi irrationality for the second part of question 8. :chainsaw:

    One More Sleep

relax, you're not the only one. but take heart... if you manage to get 5 questions out right, you'll get a really good scaled mark. though anything beyond that is obviously good too :) Good luck everyone.

    Oooo, I Cant Wait!!!

That's just not right... *looks at sqrt(-1)* *bangs head against desk*

    Time for maths...

I think the cut-off mark (raw) for band E4 (the highest one) lies somewhere between 70 and 80.

    4u Maths Tutor

Don't have one, but our maths class is only 6 people anyway, so we get all the help we need.

    Demonstrating Magnetic Levitation Prac

Our physics teacher did it himself. Then we played with the liquid nitrogen. Looks really cool when tiny clumps of nitrogen goes running off the desk really quickly, but never quite reaches the floor.

    Hands in PAIN

No more English! Viva Liberty! :D :D :D :D :D Now if I could only figure out extension 2 maths...

    what tha?????!!!

The motto of our school. We've been saying it all year, and I'll say it again: The Board of Studies are Tools. Seriously, in addition to the above stuff-up, that paper should have gone for 3 hours, not 2.

    Ran out of time!

Here's my experience. Section 1 then 3 then 2. Spent too much time on section 1. Ran far behind schedule with essay, had to cut out a related text (sorry Shrek!) and then still only had 20 minutes for section 2. Did the bushfire one, my house burnt down, my world changed and I changed. Only got...

    the exam

Not bad... except I only left 20 minutes for the second section. How much better would it be if the same exam was given 3 hours working time, instead of 2?

    your option topic

It is.:D And its not too long, and its straightforward... once you get your head around nuclear magnetic resonance. We only studied one option topic. I assumed all physics classes in NSW also only studied one, since it seems kinda pointless studying two... We were pretty pressed for time...

    your option topic

Medical physics. I find it the most interesting of the option topics (not to mention the most straightforward, with the exception of MRI), but then again, I am looking to go into that field post-HSC. Since there are only 2 chemistry and 2 physics classes, we didn't get to choose our option topic.

I just realized something about Physics Textbooks

Also, the 'Revise In A Month' books have nice dot point summaries (except you will have to read extra stuff, like the practicals and the longer-response type questions). BTW, the excel book is available for download on this site.
